Below is the complete list of known companies currently manufacturing or building complete AR .308 caliber type rifles. If anyone knows of additional sources please let me know. Updated November 01, 2021

Note: The only manufacturer of AR-10 rifles is Armalite

Some manufacturers appear to go through stages of offering AR 308, 308 AR, and AR-10 rifles. This means on any given day. The rifles may not be listed on their websites. I know for a fact when Aero Precision has no availability the .308 rifles and their associated pages disappear from their website.

The Semi-Automatic AR .308 Platform

It wasn’t that long ago when the list of 308 AR and AR-10 manufacturers would fit in a very short menu that consisted of DPMS Panther Arms, Armalite AR-10, Rock River Arms LAR-308, KAC SR-25 and JP Rifles. These days it’s a different world. while many new smaller startup 308 rifle manufacturers have come and gone. Even more have formed and prospered. More importantly many the major manufacturers of traditional firearms have jumped on the AR-15, AR-10 and 308 AR platforms with more on the way. Out of Business 308 Rifle Manufacturers

One of the lesser realized purposes this website 308 AR to exist is to serve as a historic archive for AR-10, AR .308, and 308 AR manufacturers who are no longer in business. There are many reasons gun manufacturers go out of business.

  • Bushmaster – XM-10 Rifle. Bushmaster is back in business but as of November 1, 2021. At this point, they are not offering a .308 AR. 
  • DPMS – LR-308, GII (G2) –  Recently it was reported that JJE Capital, which owns Palmetto State Armory, purchased the DPMS, Storm Lake barrels, AAC suppressors, and H&R brands at Remington’s bankruptcy auction for $1.9 million. This tracks as the current holder of the DPMS/Panther Arms trademark are listed as JJE.
  • JD Machine Tech (Out of Business)
  • Kaiser Military Technologies (Out of Business)
  • Olympic Arms – Back in business but not producing a .308 AR
