This looks promising!
"AR-Stoner" 300 BLK 1:8 16" S/S

(I read that "AR-Stoner" barrels are made by ER Shaw? <dontknow> )

I'm not familiar with these barrels. Have you heard anything specific about them? Is there any reason, other than the $30 price difference, why  you'd consider this to be a better choice than the 14.7" or 16" Wilson 300BLK barrels?

Are we talking Wilson Combat here, or Wilson Arms?

This is the one I'm talking about. I'm going to try to pick one up when back in stock, I'd like to build a minimum length, non tax stamp upper.

Cool.   <thumbsup>  Not saying this against you two (Jgun and Robo), but alot of people don't know that those are two completely separate companies, that have nothing to do with each other.  I knew you guys know that - I just didn't know which one you were talking about.   :o

Robo, there are 3 WC barrels that aren't sold out right now, brother.

I actually clicked on all three and their status changed to "out of stock" due back in stock late Feb to early Mar.

While I'm not turned off by the ER Shaw barrel, I'm definitely turned on by the Wilson Combat idea. After buying my carbon fiber barrel, I can't justify the expense on a Noveske or AAC. The last choice would be the CMMG, which I'm not fond of at all.

Ouch that hurt, I used the CMMG and it is a nice barrel. Each their own, but why is CMMG your last choise?

It's not about quality. It's black :puke:! I like stainless :yup:
If I wanted a black barrel I would hold out for one of the Daniel Defense CHF barrels.

Now that price tag would change my mind! I can't find a barrel for less than $200, and if that's the case I might as well drop the extra $30-$40 for the WC.

I was originally going to get the DD barrel because the price was right (LE discount).

I waited a month for back ordered barrel...got antsy and ordered the ARStoner barrel ...no complaints, no regrets ...nice machine work all over.chamber included..fit tight in DanDef upper..haven't shot it a lot but it hits where I point it.....at about 60 % cost of other makers barrel.....ARStoner is Midway brand name..read they are made by Shaw.....I'd order another Stoner barrel without hesitation..

I just saw (I may be late to the party on this) that Rainier has  14.5" and 16" carbine length, UltraMatch , barrels. They are made from Shilen blanks.
