OK, Heres a picture of my problem.

Now I have to drill a hole for the gas tube pin to fit through.

Turn that gas block around the other way - is it drilled (for the tube) all the way through?

NO
The gas pin hole is a blind hole , Just machined wrong.
Easy fix ,need to break out the drillpress and put a new bit in it.
Pissed at myself for not checking the part before I spent 2 hours dremilling the hole out to .952". Talked to the retail store told them to check the rest of their gas block to see if that batch was all bad.

Hijacking alert!

When I still worked at the prison, this big ox of an officer worked the detention unit on graves.  One night, every time he did his H&W checks, these inmates would get his attention and ask the time.  He'd tell them and they would laugh.

Finally, about 0300, he got tired of the game and keyed the cell open.  Did a quick search and couldn't find anything.  When he turned to go out he found the reason.

The inmates had figured out how tall he was, then drew Bullwinkle antlers on either side of the window on the door with a Sharpie.  Every time the officer stuck his head in the window, he had antlers.

Got to admit...that was a good one.
