Topic: Moving to a new server and host (Read 366 times)

Over the past year we have been experiencing service issues with the folks who host the site and server. I have tried to ride it out because moving is a huge and expensive pain. But the last two weeks there have been and there remains to be issues that are intolerable.

I will let you guys know the exact date when I know.

Lastly because of this move my participation here will be very limited until everything is resolved.

Well I'm starting with the easy stuff. I moved 4 static sites this evening. Only a few small bumps along the way. Not bad for three hours.

Tomorrow and Saturday I will try moving a few of the blogs. I dread the database stuff

Most likely tomorrow we will begin the move so there may be some down time where you folks are greeted by down time.

Well the move is complete. It wasnt real smooth we lost a bunch of posts due to the time we grabbed the database to the time the move was completed. Folks who registered at that time will need to re register.

Also the background shouldnt look different...hmmm, mine looks normal. Lastly I have a little more to do so the site may disappear for half an hour or so tonight. No data will be lost.

I had the new look briefly and liked it. Also thought it was much easier on the eyes......
