Magpul PRS Lite Stock

The Magpul PRS Lite stock provides similar adjustability and features of the PRS GEN3 Stock with the added benefits of reduced weight and a price that’s almost half of its fully-featured counterpart. At 10 ounces lighter than the PRS GEN3, it provides an optimized shooter interface with .8” of comb height and 1.4” of LOP adjustments for carbine/SR25/A5 extension tubes for .223 and .308 receiver-pattern rifles. The low-profile rubber butt-pad is adjustable for height and cant and provides a stable interface with the shooter’s shoulder. There are multiple attachment options for slings, including an ambidextrous 1.25” footman’s loop, a reversible QD sling swivel cup, and space for another optional QD sling swivel cup.

The Midwest Industries MI AR-10 Gen2 Two Piece Handguard MI-AR10CHG2 snap-on railed forearm gives your ArmaLite AR-10 carbine all the accessory mounting versatility of Midwest Industries two-piece forearms. Four MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rails contain 20 mounting slots each and are laser etched with white alphanumeric position markings. The lower section may be left off to provide clearance for a grenade launcher, tear gas launcher, or shotgun. Direct replacement for plastic factory handguard—no gunsmithing or permanent alterations required. SPECS: Machined 6061 T6 billet aluminum, hardcoat anodized, matte black. 81⁄8” (20.6cm), 2½” (6.4cm) diameter. Fits ArmaLite AR-10 carbines only.

Recently I was researching 308 Bolt Carrier Groups for our CT Other Light Weight AR-10 build and I decided to go with a Toolcraft BCG as that’s the brand BSF Barrels uses to headspace their Carbon Fiber Barrels like the one I bought for the aforementioned 308 build mentioned above. Unfortunately, I couldn’t locate the Toolcraft BCG I needed but some additional research lead me to Cryptic Coatings, specifically their Mystic Black Bolt Carrier Group.

I spent a decent amount of time reading Cryptic Coatings Mystic Black Bolt Carrier Group Reviews and decided I MUST buy one. Unfortunately, the Mystic Black in .308 Winchester was out of stock. I was bummed out but not deterred as Primary Arms let me backorder one BCG. I also decided to send an email to Cryptic Coatings. To my surprise, I received a call from the wonderful Karen H of Cryptic Coatings who graciously offered to save me one from the next run of .308 Mystic Black Bolt Carriers.

Three days later the Primary Arms order was delivered and about a month later Karen called me again to tell me my BCG had shipped. So yes I now own two very nice and expensive Cryptic Coatings Mystic Black Bolt Carrier Groups.

Cryptic Coatings Bolt Carrier Group Mystic Black .308 Winchester

Founded in January 2014, Cryptic Coatings specializes in bolt carrier groups and BCG coatings. With an ever-expanding product line, their BCGs and coatings offer reduced friction, longer lifespans, and increased performance, backed by their lifetime warranty.

This Bolt Carrier Group includes a MIL-SPEC 8620 aircraft quality steel carrier with a shot-peened carpenter no. 158 steel bolt. The DPMS cut carrier is compatible with most DPMS pattern AR’s on the market and features a shrouded firing pin, a chrome-lined interior, and a properly staked, chrome-lined gas key secured with grade 8 fasteners. The bolt assembly includes a tool steel extractor with spring and Viton O-ring. A chrome-finished firing pin is also included.

Cryptic BCGs are finished in one of six different coatings, each offering reduced friction, increased performance, and greater wear resistance than that of a standard bolt carrier group.
