Remington Defense R10 SA 308 16 MBUS STR RAHG 86361
The Remington Defense R10 SA 308 16″ is built on the AR direct impingement rifle platform and chambered in the accurate and heavy hitting 7.62x51mm NATO/.308 Winchester cartridge. Both the upper and lower receivers are hard coat anodized to ensure a durable and non-reflective finish. The carbine length barrel is 16 inches long and has a 1:10” twist perfect for stabilizing heavy 174+ grain bullets, the ideal ammunition for a medium to long range tactical rifle. The muzzle is 5/8×24 tpi threaded, making it compatible with the vast majority of muzzle attachments for .308 Win barrels.
The handguard is Remington’s RAHG design, with a top rail for optics and/or laser, then 7 other mountable surfaces with M-LOK style attachment points. The rifle features ambidextrous controls for the magazine release, bolt-release, and safety selector making this rifle a great option for left-handed shooters. The Remington Defense R10 SA 308 rifle features Magpul’s MOE SL-S telescoping stock, which has 6 positions for adjusting to the ideal length of pull and has a generous cheek weld. LANTAC .308/7.62X51MM Enhanced Full Auto Style Bolt Carrier Group NiB Coated E-BCG
The LANTAC E-BCG Enhanced Bolt Carrier Group is precision machined from 8620 Steel with a shot peened bolt manufactured from Carpenter 158 and Magnetically Particle Inspected. The entire carrier assembly is NiB, Electroless Nickel Boron coated with the patented, advanced UCT EXO process, unlike standard NiB coatings. This offers extreme lubricity with a friction coefficient of .02 and surface hardness of 82-85 Rockwell C.
The carriers patent pending design features unique shrouded and forward facing gas ports that have also been re sized so that gas is vented differently to a standard carrier. This results in a system that runs flatter with a smoother energy pulse. In addition, the system also runs cooler and cleaner and there is also less pressurization of the upper receiver when running a suppressed barrel. The flared boss at the tail of the carrier enhances the BCG’s lock position within the upper and makes it more consistent, resulting in an accuracy improvement.
All critical dimensions are hard turned / ground after heat treat and the bore of the carrier and gas key have been hard chrome lined for the best possible wear resistance. All E-BCG’s feature the LANTAC CP-R360 patent pending domed cam pin that is machined from 17-4PH Stainless Steel and hardened to H900 condition (45RC approx). The ultra-smooth head reduces wear within the upper receiver. Gas keys are properly staked at four points and only grade 8 fasteners are used in assembly.
REMINGTON REMOVES R15 and R25 G2 from Product Lineup 2018
So I was browsing the internet and happened across the Remington 2018 catalog. I noticed three omissions from the product lineup. The first is the Remington 700 Tactical chassis which is the Remington 700 MDT TAC21 rifle. This makes sense as Remington now has their own chassis rifle the 700 PCR (Precision Chassis Rifle). No surprise there. What did surprise me was the lack of the R-15 the Remington version of an AR-15. More importantly to folks at 308ar.com was the 308 AR by way of the R-25 GII is also missing. No of course it’s understood that DPMS covers both models and Bushmaster has the XM-15 and full size 308 XM-10.
In my view it’s symbolically important that these semi-automatics be represented first hand by the name Remington. Any speculation on the reasoning?
Rise of Untraceable Ghost Guns | Targeting 80 Percent Receivers
Lately It seems every weekend I’m greeted with another news article relating to “Ghost Guns” or as we refer to them 80% receivers. I just take another sip of my coffee and shake my head in amazement. I wonder to myself is the other side this naive or ignorant to simply not understand that firearms are simply mechanical devices and with modern manufacturing technologies and process they are easily reproducible. Then my gun owner paranoia hits me and I wonder if maybe there’s more to this, a bigger, more sinister agenda. Maybe it’s not that billet of aluminum they are trying to keep out of our hands after all but instead all the individual parts that make the whole of a gun.
What if in the next few years the political climate swings far enough in the other direction that the anti-gun crowd gains enough of a political majority to do whatever they want with regards to gun control. What if they find a way to make the critical parts of a gun regulated. Parts like the upper receivers, triggers and barrels. Imagine a scenario where folks in restricted states not able to buy any parts to repair or upgrade their AR-15’s and AR-10’s. These states in most cases have already restricted magazines. What if for the rest of the country where the guns are still legal the owners are not permitted to buy aftermarket parts? What if all firearm work must be performed by manufacturers or their “licensed” representatives. This would most likely choke most of the gun industry to death. Think about this for a minute.
